Bridgwater in Somerset is an old town with a rich history, a gateway to the rest of Somerset, Devon and Cornwall beyond. With Hinkley Point C power station under construction on the coast nearby, the town is a great place to stay for those in the area on business.
Bridgwater is a town in Somerset that lies on the River Parrett. It is ideally located just a few minutes’ drive from Junction 23 of the M5 motorway, and about 10 miles from the coast. Serviced apartments in Bridgwater are especially convenient for access to the Hinkley Point Power Station, where work has begun on two new reactors that will be known as ‘Hinkley Point C’. The site will be just a 15-minute drive from the town, and with Bridgwater Railway Station a part of the Great Western Railway on the Taunton to Bristol Line, it’s easy to reach by rail as well.
Bridgwater is also popular as a distribution centre, again because of its ideal position on the main route into and out of Southwest England. It has all the amenities you might expect of a medium-sized town, with a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. Visitors to Bridgwater serviced apartments would be well advised to take a trip or two into the nearby Quantock Hills, which are an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’, as well as the Mendip Hills a little further to the northwest, another AONB.
