About Camden, North London

Overview

Famous for its markets and live entertainment, Camden is one of London's trendier districts. Its famed as a top London shopping area, but it also has plenty more to offer as a travel destination. Both our corporate accommodation and serviced apartments allow you the best opportunity to explore all aspects of Camden Town.

About Camden

Camden has been a residential area since the 1790s. Yet, it was not until 60 years later that the main parts of the town were fully constructed. In April 1965, the London Borough of Camden replaced the former boroughs of Hampstead, Holborn, and St Pancras. Now though Camden is the sixth-most densely populated English district and is widely-known for its vast ethnic diversity.

The town only become a busy part of London after the development of the Grand Union Canal and the improved railway system. The Grand Union Canal is the longest in the UK, stretching to 137 miles from London to Birmingham. Sourcing from this canal is Regent’s Canal, which runs through the heart of Camden and its markets. In 1974 Camden welcomed its first diverse and colourful traders and the rest is history.

CULTURE & ATTRACTIONS

Camden is one of London’s most vibrant areas. The town is famous for its markets and live music venues, as well as the canal and Little Venice. Venture from the relaxation of staying in your own Camden furnished housing to a wealth of eateries and leisure time activities, as well as the heart of London. The City of London financial district is not far away from our corporate accommodation either. Camden city apartments are also available for those looking to visit many of London’s most famous sites. These include Madame Tussaud’s, Trafalgar Square and the theatre district. ZSL London Zoo is also nearby and can accommodate for a family day out.

If you are still looking for ways to fill your evenings, Camden is the ideal place for live music. Gigs are booked all week, in venues big and small. Camden is not short of pubs and bars either. You can find places to drink and relax all over town, and our Camden aparthotels are never too far away from the best spots.
